Bits or Bites

How long does it take for a puma
to catch her dinner
and how many bites of data 
do I generate
while she's trying to feed her offspring?

Should I feel sorry or ashamed
for needing two hours to recover from lunch
and not feeding the feed, the flow, the flux
while my stomach digests 
meat and spinach?

Somehow they made us think
we should be as fast as artificial intelligence
as lifeless and unbodied
as different as possible 

from a mighty beast.
